Replacement: spark plugs – VW LT 28-35 II Bus (2DB, 2DE, 2DK). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: spark plugs – VW LT 28-35 II Bus (2DB, 2DE, 2DK). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously.
- Step 4Unscrew the oil dipstick bracket. Use XZN #8. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 5Remove the oil dipstick.
- Step 6Unscrew the intake manifold fasteners. Use HEX No.H6. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 7Detach the retainers of the ignition cables.
- Step 8Disconnect the vacuum sensor.
- Step 9Detach the vacuum pipe.
- Step 10Unscrew the intake manifold fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 11Remove the intake manifold.
- Step 12Cover the intake manifold passages with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting inside.
- Step 13Remove the spark plug wire connectors from the spark plug wells.Replacement: spark plugs – VW LT 28-35 II Bus (2DB, 2DE, 2DK). AUTODOC recommends:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the sequence of the spark plug wires connectors.
- Step 14Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells.
- Step 15Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 16Take out the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16.
- Step 17Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
- Step 18Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats. Use the spark plug socket #16.
- Step 19Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 nm torque.Replacement: spark plugs – VW LT 28-35 II Bus (2DB, 2DE, 2DK). Tip from AUTODOC:Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
- Step 20Clean the intake manifold fasteners. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 21Treat the spark plug wire connectors. Use high-temperature grease. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 22Install the spark plug wire connectors into the spark plug wells. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: spark plugs – VW LT 28-35 II Bus (2DB, 2DE, 2DK). Follow the installation steps.
