- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: serpentine belt – RENAULT MEGANE II Box Body / Estate (KM_). Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 4Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 5Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 6Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. RENAULT MEGANE II Box Body / Estate (KM_)
- Step 7Remove the wheel.
- Step 8Unscrew and remove the wheel arch cover fasteners. Use ear clamp pliers. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the wheel arch cover.
- Step 10Unscrew the fasteners connecting the bumper reinforcement bar to the subframe. Use a drive socket #13.
- Step 11Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a drive socket #16. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 12Remove the V-ribbed belt.
- Step 13Return the tensioner pulley to its initial position.Replacement: serpentine belt – RENAULT MEGANE II Box Body / Estate (KM_). AUTODOC experts recommend:Check the condition of the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Replace them if necessary.Step 14Install the V-ribbed belt.Replacement: serpentine belt – RENAULT MEGANE II Box Body / Estate (KM_). Tip from AUTODOC:Make sure that the V-ribbed belt fits all pulleys snugly.
- Step 15Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a drive socket #16. Use a tap wrench.
