How to change strut mount on VW POLO 4 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: strut mount – VW Polo 9N. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the mounts of the right and left shock absorbers of the rear suspension.
- Both mounts of the rear shock struts should be replaced simultaneously.
- Be sure to replace all self-locking nuts and bolts during installation.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: strut mount – VW Polo 9N. Use the following procedure:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. - Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Polo 9N - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 7
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 8
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9Remove the fastening bolt.Step 10
Detach the lower part of the shock absorber. Use a crowbar. - Step 11
Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the shock absorber while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Polo 9N - Step 12
Remove the shock absorber. - Step 13Clean the shock absorber rod fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 14
Remove the shock absorber piston rod fastening. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 15
Remove the top strut mount.Replacement: strut mount – VW Polo 9N. AUTODOC recommends:Examine the shock absorber dust cap and the bump stop. Replace them if necessary. - Step 16
Install a new strut mount. - Step 17
Screw the shock strut piston rod upper fastening. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 nm torque.
