Replacement: shock absorbers – RENAULT MODUS / GRAND MODUS (F/JP0_). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Both shock absorbers of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right shock absorbers of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: shock absorbers – RENAULT MODUS / GRAND MODUS (F/JP0_). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3Open the boot lid.Step 4
Detach the boot side lining. - Step 5
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 6
Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a shock absorber socket DD№6 Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 7Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 8
Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: shock absorbers – RENAULT MODUS / GRAND MODUS (F/JP0_). Professionals recommend:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 9
Remove the wheel. - Step 10
Disconnect the ABS sensor wiring. Use a crowbar. - Step 11
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 12
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 13
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.Replacement: shock absorbers – RENAULT MODUS / GRAND MODUS (F/JP0_). Tip:To avoid injuries, hold the shock absorber when undoing the fastening bolts. - Step 14
Remove the shock absorber.Replacement: shock absorbers – RENAULT MODUS / GRAND MODUS (F/JP0_). AUTODOC experts recommend:Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times. - Step 15
Clean the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 16
Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and secure it.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the shock absorber while screwing in the fastening bolts. RENAULT MODUS / GRAND MODUS (F/JP0_) - Step 17
Screw in the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 18
Raise the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm. - Step 19
Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 105 Nm torque.
