How to change rear springs VW LUPO TUTORIAL | AUTODOC

Replacement: coil springs – VW Lupo 6X1. AUTODOC recommends:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: coil springs – VW Lupo 6X1. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Lupo 6X1
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 8Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Detach the lower part of the shock absorber.
- Step 10Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:VW Lupo 6X1 – Do not lower the transmission jack sharply to avoid damaging components and mechanisms of the car.
- Step 11Pull down the suspension control arm. Use a crowbar.Step 12Take out the spring.
- Step 13Remove the rubber spring spacer.
- Step 14Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 15Install the rubber spring spacer.
