Tools
Replacement: coil springs – RENAULT MEGANE II (BM0/1_, CM0/1_). Tools you might need:
Wire brush
WD-40 spray
Copper grease
Drive socket # 10
Drive socket # 18
Combination spanner #18
Wheel impact socket #19
Ratchet wrench
Torque wrench
Tap wrench
Crow bar
Hydraulic transmission jack
Wheel chock
Replacement: coil springs – RENAULT MEGANE II (BM0/1_, CM0/1_). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
  • Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
  • The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
  • Please note: all work on the car – RENAULT MEGANE II (BM0/1_, CM0/1_) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:

  3. Step 3
    Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.

    Remove the wheel.

    Unscrew the fastener of the rear axle plastic protecting cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.

    Detach the lower part of the shock absorber. Use a crowbar.
  11. Step 12
    Replacing Springs on Renault Megane 2 2011 1.9 dCi by yourself
    Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.

    Replacement: coil springs – RENAULT MEGANE II (BM0/1_, CM0/1_). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
  12. Step 13

    Pull down the rear suspension beam. Use a crowbar. Take out the spring.
  13. Step 14
    Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary.

    Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
