How to replace engine mount on BMW E39 Touring [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
Engine mount
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
- Step 1
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
- Step 2
Unscrew the upper fastener of the engine mount. Use a combination spanner #16.
- Step 3
Detach the vacuum hose from the engine mount.
- Step 4
Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 5
Unscrew the lower fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 6
Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 7
Remove the engine mount.

- Step 8
Clean the mounting seat of the engine mount. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
