Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT LEON (1M1). AUTODOC experts recommend:
The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT LEON (1M1). Recommended sequence of steps:
Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
On the right side, detach the PCV valve hose from the engine cover.
Step 4
Remove the engine cover assembled with the air filter housing.
Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT LEON (1M1). Tip:
Do not apply excessive force when removing the part. Otherwise you may damage it.
Step 5
Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 6
Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well. Use a crowbar.
AUTODOC recommends:
Remember the sequence of steps for ignition coil demounting.
Step 7
Unplug the connectors from the ignition coils.
Step 8
Treat the ignition coil connector with electronic spray. The spray will protect the electrical contacts from corrosion, oxidation, and will reduce the contact resistance.
Step 9
Plug in the connectors of the ignition coils.
Step 10
Install the ignition coils to the spark plug wells. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT LEON (1M1). Follow the installation steps.
Step 11
Remove the microfibre towel from the throttle body.
Step 12
Install the engine cover and secure it.
AUTODOC recommends:
Caution! Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the fasteners of the car. SEAT LEON (1M1)Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners and the throttle body air intake hose.
Step 13
On the right side, attach the PCV valve hose to the engine cover.
Step 14
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 15
Close the hood.
Step 16
Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 17
Shut off the engine.
