Replacement: ignition coil – FORD FOCUS III. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: ignition coil – FORD FOCUS III. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: ignition coil – FORD FOCUS III. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 4Detach the connector from the ignition coil.
- Step 5Make marks to indicate the order of installation of the spark plug wires.
- Step 6Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil.AUTODOC recommends:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the position of the spark plug wires.
- Step 7Unscrew the ignition coil bracket. Use Torx T20. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 8Remove the ignition coil.
- Step 9Install a new ignition coil.
- Step 10Tighten the ignition coil fastening. Use Torx T20. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 8 nm torque.
