All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: fuel filter – VW Touran 1T1 1T2. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.
Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3

Clean the fuel filter housing and the cover. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 4

Unscrew the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover. Use Torx T20.
Step 5

Remove the fuel filter housing cover. Use a crowbar.
Step 6

Prepare a container for fluids.
Step 7

Remove the fuel filter. Use round-nose pliers.
Step 8

Put the old filter cartridge in the container.

Replacement: fuel filter – VW Touran 1T1 1T2. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 9

Remove the old sealing ring. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 10

Install the new sealing ring. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 11

Install a new fuel filter.

Replacement: fuel filter – VW Touran 1T1 1T2. Tip from AUTODOC:
Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Take care to only use quality filters.
Step 12

Install and tighten the cap of the fuel filter housing.
Step 13

Tighten the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover. Use Torx T20. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 8 Nm torque.

Replacement: fuel filter – VW Touran 1T1 1T2. Tip:
Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.
Step 14

Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 15

Shut off the engine.
Step 16

Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 17

Close the hood.
