Replacement: fuel filter – VW KAEFER. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: fuel filter – VW KAEFER. Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 2
Unscrew the fuel filter bracket fixing bolts. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 3
Remove the fuel filter together with its bracket. - Step 4
Prepare a container for fluids. - Step 5
Loosen the fuel supply lines fastening to the fuel filter. Use a flat screwdriver.Replacement: fuel filter – VW KAEFER. Tip:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses. - Step 6
Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 7
Remove the fuel filter. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 8
Install a new fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – VW KAEFER. AUTODOC recommends:Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Take care to only use quality filters. - Step 9
Connect the fuel supply lines to the new fuel filter.
