Replacement: fuel filter – MERCEDES-BENZ E-Klasse Pritsche / Fahrgestell (VF210). AUTODOC recommends:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: fuel filter – MERCEDES-BENZ E-Klasse Pritsche / Fahrgestell (VF210). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Clean the fuel filter housing and the cover. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 4Remove the retaining clip that secures the fuel filter pipe.
- Step 5Disconnect the pipe from the fuel filter.
- Step 6Unscrew the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover. Use a universal puller.
- Step 7Lift the fuel filter cover up a little.
- Step 8Remove the fuel filter.
- Step 9Pump the fuel out of the fuel filter housing. Use an automotive fluid syringe.
- Step 10Remove the old O-ring. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 11Clean the fuel filter housing.
- Step 12Install the new O-ring.
- Step 13Install a new fuel filter.
- Step 14Install and tighten the fuel filter housing cap.
- Step 15Tighten the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover. Use a universal puller. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 Nm torque.
- Step 16Connect the pipe to the fuel filter.
