Replacement: fuel filter – Mercedes W124. AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: fuel filter – Mercedes W124. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1
Open the bonnet. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3
Clean the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 4
Unscrew the fuel filter bracket. Use a combination spanner #19. - Step 5
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 6
Remove the fuel filter. - Step 7
Clean the mounting seat of the fuel filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 8
Install a new fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – Mercedes W124. Tip:Lubricate the O-rings of the new fuel filter with a small amount of fuel. - Step 9
Install the fastening bolt.AUTODOC recommends:Use new O-rings. - Step 10
Tighten the fuel filter fasteners. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 22 Nm torque. - Step 11
Loosen the fastening clamp of the fuel filter pipe. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
