Replacement: fuel filter – Fiat Punto 199. AUTODOC recommends:

Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: fuel filter – Fiat Punto 199. Recommended sequence of steps:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.
Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3

Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 4

Squeeze the clips and detach the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter housing. Use fuel line pliers.

Replacement: fuel filter – Fiat Punto 199. Tip:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 5

Loosen the fuel filter mounting. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 6

Remove the fuel filter.
Step 7

Detach the fuel pressure sensor connector.
Step 8

Unscrew the fastener of the fuel pressure sensor.

Replacement: fuel filter – Fiat Punto 199. Tip from AUTODOC:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 9

Remove the fuel pressure sensor.
Step 10

Remove the old sealing ring.
Step 11

Install the new sealing ring.
Step 12

Install the fuel pressure sensor.

Step 13

Screw the fastener of the fuel pressure sensor.
Step 14

Attach the fuel pressure sensor connector.
Step 15

Install a new fuel filter.

Replacement: fuel filter – Fiat Punto 199. AUTODOC recommends:
Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Fiat Punto 199 – It's important to only use high-quality filters.
Step 16

Screw in the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 17

Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter and lock the fastening clips.
Step 18

Switch on the ignition. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.
Step 19

Switch off the ignition.
Step 20

Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 21

Shut off the engine.

Step 22

Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 23

Close the hood.
