Replacement: fuel filter – Audi A4 B7. AUTODOC experts recommend:

Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: fuel filter – Audi A4 B7. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Open the fuel door.

Step 2

Unscrew the fuel filler cap.

Step 3

Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
Step 4

Unscrew the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 5

Remove the fuel filter housing cover.
Step 6

Prepare a container for fluids.
Step 7

Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use a nylon cleaning brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 8

Squeeze the clips and detach the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter housing. Use a flat screwdriver. Use a clip removal tool.

Replacement: fuel filter – Audi A4 B7. AUTODOC recommends:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 9

Unscrew the fuel filter bracket. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 10

Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use a clip removal tool.
Step 11

Remove the fuel filter. Put the old filter cartridge in the container.
Step 12

Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 13

Install a new fuel filter.

AUTODOC recommends:
Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Attention! Use quality filters – Audi A4 B7.
Step 14

Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter and lock the fastening clips.
Step 15

Screw in the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 16

Take the fluid container away from under the fuel filter.
Step 17

Put the fuel filter cap back on.
Step 18

Tighten the fasteners of the fuel filter cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 19

Lower the car.

Step 20

Tighten the fuel filler cap.

Step 21

Close the fuel door.

Replacement: fuel filter – Audi A4 B7. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.
Step 22

Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.

Step 23

Shut off the engine.
