Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT EXEO (3R2). Professionals recommend:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
- Please note: all work on the car – SEAT EXEO (3R2) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT EXEO (3R2). Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #18.
- Step 8Unscrew the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a combination spanner #18 (2 pieces).
- Step 9Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
- Step 10Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 11Remove the arm.
- Step 12Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 13Install a new arm.
- Step 14Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
- Step 15Install the fastening bolt.Step 16Screw the fasteners of the ball joint. Use a combination spanner #18.
- Step 17Screw the rear arm fastener. Use a combination spanner #18 (2 pieces).
