Clean the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Loosen the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a drive socket #30. Use a tap wrench.

Remove the fastening nut. Use a drive socket #30.

Treat the splines of the driveshaft CV joint. Use WD-40 spray.

Disconnect the ABS sensor wiring.

Unscrew the brake hose fastening bracket from the shock strut. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.

Remove the cotter pin. Use round-nose pliers.

Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #19.

Disconnect the lower arm from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.

Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use a combination spanner #12. Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench.

Disconnect the lower arm from the steering knuckle.

Remove the drive shaft. Use a pin punch. Use a hammer.
Replacement: coil springs – Citroen C1 1 PM PN. Tip from AUTODOC:
Make sure that the drive shaft is not unloaded (when the car is jacked).

Clean the fasteners connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Unscrew the lower fastener connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 37
Prop up the steering knuckle. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 38
Remove the fastening bolt.

Release the lower fastener connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.

Disconnect the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut.

Unscrew the top fastening of the shock strut mount.

Remove the suspension strut.

Set the shock absorber strut on the spring compressor tool.
Note that when using a spring compressor, spring coils need to be securely gripped, compressing the spring on the opposite sides.Ensure the correct position of the spring in the retainer.Make sure that the spring coils tightly entered the lock handles.

Compress the spring.

Treat the shock strut rod. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Remove the strut piston rod nut. Use HEX No.H6. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.

Remove the shock absorber mount, boot and bump stop.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: coil springs – Citroen C1 1 PM PN. Carefully inspect the mount, the boot, and the bump stop of the shock absorber. Replace if necessary.

Release the coil spring.

Remove the spring.

Install the spring on the shock absorber.

Compress the spring.

Install the mount, the boot and the bump stop on the shock absorber.

Tighten the shock strut piston rod nut. Use HEX No.H6. Use a drive socket #17. Use a chain wrench. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 33 Nm torque.
Check to make sure the spring is positioned correctly. Avoid its misalignment.

Treat the shock strut rod. Use copper grease.
Step 55
Decompress the spring.

Remove the assembled shock strut.

Clean the mounting seats of the shock strut. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Install the shock strut into the wheel arch.

Screw the top fastening of the shock strut mount. Do not tighten it.

Mount the drive shaft into the
wheel hub.

Connect the lower arm to the steering knuckle.

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 98 nm torque.

Install the cotter pin. Use round-nose pliers.

Screw in the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar to the control arm. Use a combination spanner #12. Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench.

Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.

Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use a drive socket #12. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 Nm torque.

Tighten the lower fasteners connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 48 Nm torque.

Remove the support from under the arm.

Tighten the brake hose fastening bracket to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
