Remove the wheel.
Step 14
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 15
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 16
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #14.
AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the shock absorber while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Citroen C1 1 PM PN
Step 17
Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 18
Remove the shock absorber.
Step 19
Remove the shock absorber dust cap and the bump stop.
Replacement: shock absorbers – Citroen C1 1 PM PN. Tip from AUTODOC:
Examine the shock absorber dust cap and the bump stop. Replace them if necessary. Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.
Step 20
Install the dust sleeve and the bump stop on the new shock absorber.
Step 21
Treat the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 22
Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and secure it.
To avoid injury, hold the shock absorber cautiously tight when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 23
Install the fastening bolt.
Step 24
Raise the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm.
Step 25
Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 48 Nm torque.
Step 26
Screw the upper fastener of the shock absorber.
Step 27
Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: shock absorbers – Citroen C1 1 PM PN. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 28
Treat the shock absorber fasteners. Use copper grease.
Step 29
Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.
Step 30
Treat the surface where the wheel rim contacts the brake drum. Use copper grease.
Step 31
Install the wheel.
Replacement: shock absorbers – Citroen C1 1 PM PN. Tip from AUTODOC experts:

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 33
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 100 nm torque.
Step 34
Tighten the top shock absorber fastening. Use a combination spanner #14 (2 pieces). Use a shock absorber socket DD#6. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 Nm torque.
Step 35
Treat the shock absorber fasteners. Use copper grease.
Step 36
Install the mount cap on the shock absorber upper fastener.
Step 37
Attach the side lining of the boot.
Step 38
Install the clips of the boot side lining.
Step 39
Screw in the fastener of the boot side lining. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 40
Return the seat to its original position.
Step 41
Install the folding shelf to its mounting seat.
Step 42
Close the lid of the luggage compartment.
Step 43
Remove the jacks and chocks.
