Replacement: brake hose – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). AUTODOC recommends:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake hose – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 4Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
- Step 8Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake hose – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). Professionals recommend:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 9Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #10.
- Step 10Unscrew the mounting bracket that connects the brake hose to the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #10.
- Step 11Unscrew the fastener connecting the brake hose to the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #10.
- Step 12Remove the brake hose assembled with the mounting bracket.
- Step 13Grip the brake hose mounting bracket in the vice.
- Step 14Unscrew the brake pipe from the brake hose. Use pliers. Disconnect the brake hose.
- Step 15Remove the brake pipe from the mounting bracket.
- Step 16Loosen the vice and remove the brake hose mounting bracket.Step 17Install and tighten the mounting bracket connecting the brake hose to the brake caliper.
- Step 18Use a combination spanner #10.
- Step 19Install the brake pipe to the mounting bracket. Attach the new brake hose.Step 20Screw the brake pipe to the brake hose. Use a combination spanner #10.Step 21Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 16 Nm torque.
