Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). Tip from AUTODOC:

Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
Please note: all work on the car – VW SANTANA (32B) – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.

Step 2

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 3

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 4

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Step 5

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW SANTANA (32B)
Step 6

Remove the wheel.
Step 7

Detach the brake hose from the shock strut.
Step 8

Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 9

Clamp the brake hose off using a brake hose clamp.
Step 10

Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
Step 11

Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 12

Loosen the brake hose fastening. Use a combination spanner #14.
Step 13

Loosen the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake hose. Use a combination spanner #11.
Step 14

Unscrew the brake pipe from the brake hose.
Step 15

Remove the brake hose clamp.
Step 16

Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper.

Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). AUTODOC experts recommend:
Be careful! Brake fluid may leak from the brake hose.
Step 17

Treat the brake hose. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 18

Screw the new brake hose onto the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #14.
Step 19

Treat the brake hose. Use a brake cleaner.

After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 20

Screw the brake hose onto the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #11.
Step 21

Treat the brake hose. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 22

Fasten the brake hose on the strut.
Step 23

Clean dirt from the brake hose bolt. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 24

Connect the brake bleeder kit to the brake bleeder screw.
Step 25

Undo the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #7.
Step 26

Press the brake pedal several times to remove any air from the system.
Step 27

Tighten the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #7.
Step 28

Disconnect the brake bleeder kit.

Step 29

Clean dirt from the brake hose bolt. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 30

Tighten the brake caliper bleed screw. Use a drive socket #7. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 5 Nm torque.
Step 31

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 32

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). Tip:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 33

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. VW SANTANA (32B)
Step 34

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 35

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 110 Nm torque.
Step 36

Remove the jacks and chocks.

Replacement: brake hose – VW SANTANA (32B). AUTODOC experts recommend:
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and refill if necessary.
Step 37

Tighten the brake fluid reservoir cap. Close the hood.
