Replacement: brake hose – VW GOLF I Cabriolet (155). Tip from AUTODOC:

- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW GOLF I Cabriolet (155) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 4Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW GOLF I Cabriolet (155)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Detach the brake hose from the shock strut.
- Step 8Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 9Clamp the brake hose off using a brake hose clamp.
- Step 10Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
- Step 11Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 12Loosen the brake hose fastening. Use a combination spanner #14.
- Step 13Loosen the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake hose. Use a combination spanner #11.
- Step 14Unscrew the brake pipe from the brake hose.
- Step 15Remove the brake hose clamp.
- Step 16Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper.Replacement: brake hose – VW GOLF I Cabriolet (155). AUTODOC experts recommend:Be careful! Brake fluid may leak from the brake hose.
- Step 17Treat the brake hose. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake hose – VW GOLF I Cabriolet (155). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 18Screw the new brake hose onto the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #14.
- Step 19Treat the brake hose. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake hose – VW GOLF I Cabriolet (155). Tip from AUTODOC experts:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 20Screw the brake hose onto the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #11.
- Step 21Treat the brake hose. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake hose – VW GOLF I Cabriolet (155). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 22Fasten the brake hose on the strut.
