Replacement: brake hose – VW BORA (1J2). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake hose – VW BORA (1J2). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Step 4Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 5Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 6Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 7Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW BORA (1J2)
- Step 8Remove the wheel.
- Step 9Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake hose – VW BORA (1J2). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 10Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
- Step 11Clamp the brake hose off using a brake hose clamp.
- Step 12Loosen the brake hose fastening. Use a combination spanner #11.
- Step 13Loosen the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake hose. Use a combination spanner #11.
- Step 14Remove the brake hose retaining clip. Use a crowbar.
- Step 15Disconnect the brake hose.
- Step 16Remove the brake hose clamp.Step 17Clean the brake hose mounting seat. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake hose – VW BORA (1J2). Tip from AUTODOC:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 18Clamp the brake hose off using a brake hose clamp.
- Step 19Attach the new brake hose.Step 20Screw the brake hose onto the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #11.
- Step 21Install the brake hose retaining clip. Use a hammer.Step 22Clean the brake hose mounting seat. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake hose – VW BORA (1J2). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 23Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
- Step 24Remove the brake hose clamp.
