How to change front anti roll bar link / front drop link on RENAULT MEGANE 2 (LM) [AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Anti Roll Bar Links for MEGANE II Saloon (LM0/1_) and other RENAULT models
Replace the stabiliser links on Renault Megane 2 in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Renault Megane 2. Take the following steps:
Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 3
Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Renault Megane 2
Step 5
Remove the wheel.
Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use HEX No.H6. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use HEX No.H6. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9
Remove the stabilizer rod.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Renault Megane 2. Tip:
Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
Step 10
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
Step 11
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #14. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 44 Nm torque.
Step 12
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a drive socket #14. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 44 Nm torque.
Step 13
Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease.
Step 14
Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Treat the contacting surface. Use copper grease.
Step 15
Install the wheel.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Renault Megane 2. AUTODOC experts recommend:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 16
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 17
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 110 Nm torque.
Step 18
Remove the jacks and chocks.
