Replacement: engine thermostat – FORD TOURNEO CUSTOM Bus. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Unscrew the coolant reservoir cap. - Step 4Lift the vehicle using a vehicle lift or place it over an inspection pit.Step 5
Prepare a fluid drain pan. - Step 6
Unscrew the coolant drain plug. Use a slotted screwdriver. - Step 7
Drain the coolant.Replacement: engine thermostat – FORD TOURNEO CUSTOM Bus. AUTODOC recommends:Wait until the coolant has completely flowed out of the drain hole. - Step 8
Screw in the coolant drain plug. Use a slotted screwdriver. - Step 9
Loosen the coolant hose clamp. Use hose clamp pliers. - Step 10
Detach the coolant hose and plug it with a paper towel. - Step 11
Clean the fasteners of the thermostat housing cover. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 12
Unscrew the fasteners of the thermostat housing cover. Use a T25 Torx bit. Use a U-joint socket extension. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 13
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 14
Remove the thermostat housing cover. - Step 15
Remove the thermostat. - Step 16
Clean the mounting seat of the thermostat housing cover. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 17
Install a new thermostat.
