How to change engine oil and oil filter VW LUPO TUTORIAL | AUTODOC

Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW Lupo 6X1. AUTODOC recommends:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Use only new O-rings during installation.
- Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – VW Lupo 6X1.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW Lupo 6X1. Tip:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped. - Step 2
Put a waste oil container with at least 4 l capacity under the drainage hole. - Step 3
Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 4
Drain the used oil.AUTODOC recommends:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole. - Step 5
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. - Step 6
Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 28 nm torque. - Step 7
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 8
Lower the car. - Step 9
Open the hood. - Step 10Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 11
Remove the engine cover.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW Lupo 6X1. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously.Do not apply excessive force when removing the part. Otherwise you may damage it. - Step 12
Unscrew the filter housing cap together with the old filter element. Use a drive socket #36. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 13Prepare a container for the old oil filter.Step 14
Put the old oil filter in the container.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW Lupo 6X1. Professionals recommend:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter. - Step 15
Detach the oil filter from the filter cover. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 16
Remove the oil filter cover O-ring. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 17
Install a new O-ring to its mounting seat on the filter cover. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 18
Install the new oil filter to the mounting seat on the filter cover.Please note!Make sure to install the filter correctly. Don't mix up the sides of the part. - Step 19
Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.
