Replacement: engine oil and filter – TOYOTA STARLET 1000 (KP). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Please note: all work on the car – TOYOTA STARLET 1000 (KP) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Unscrew the oil filler plug.
- Step 4Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – TOYOTA STARLET 1000 (KP). Tip from AUTODOC:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped.
- Step 5Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use a drive socket #12.
- Step 6Remove the oil pan cover.
- Step 7Clean the cap of the oil filler neck. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 8Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole.
- Step 9Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 10Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – TOYOTA STARLET 1000 (KP). AUTODOC experts recommend:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
- Step 11Prepare a container for the old oil filter.Step 12Unscrew the oil filter. Use the 76-14F socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 13Put the old oil filter in the container.Replacement: engine oil and filter – TOYOTA STARLET 1000 (KP). AUTODOC recommends:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter.Step 14Clean the oil filter seat.
- Step 15Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.
- Step 16Screw the new filter into its place. Use the 76-14F socket. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 17 Nm torque.
- Step 17Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
