How to change oil filter and engine oil on OCTAVIA (1Z5) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: engine oil and filter – Skoda Octavia 1Z5. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Please note: all work on the car – Skoda Octavia 1Z5 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Open the hood. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3
Unscrew the oil filler plug. - Step 4
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Skoda Octavia 1Z5. Professionals recommend:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped. - Step 5
Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole. - Step 6
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 7
Unscrew the drain plug. Use a combination spanner #19. - Step 8
Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Skoda Octavia 1Z5. Tip:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole. - Step 9
Clean the oil filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 10
Remove the engine cover.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Skoda Octavia 1Z5. AUTODOC experts recommend:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously.Do not apply excessive force when removing the part. Otherwise you may damage it. - Step 11
Unscrew the oil filter. Use the 77/15-F socket. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 12
Prepare a container for the old oil filter. - Step 13
Remove the oil filter.AUTODOC recommends:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter. - Step 14
Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil. - Step 15
Install a new oil filter. - Step 16
Screw the new filter into its place. Use the 77/15-F socket. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 24 Nm torque. - Step 17
Install the engine cover and secure it.AUTODOC recommends:Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners.Caution! Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the fasteners of the car. Skoda Octavia 1Z5 - Step 18
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
