Replacement: distributor rotor – VW TRANSPORTER IV Platform/Chassis (70XD). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- Thoroughly inspect the ignition distributor assembly. Replace any worn parts.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW TRANSPORTER IV Platform/Chassis (70XD) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Make marks on the distributor cap to indicate the installation order of the spark plug wires.
- Step 4Disconnect the spark plug wires from the distributor cap.Replacement: distributor rotor – VW TRANSPORTER IV Platform/Chassis (70XD). Tip from AUTODOC:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.
- Step 5Release the distributor cap clips. Use a crowbar.
- Step 6Remove the distributor cap.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: distributor rotor – VW TRANSPORTER IV Platform/Chassis (70XD). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 7Remove the ignition distributor rotor.Replacement: distributor rotor – VW TRANSPORTER IV Platform/Chassis (70XD). Professionals recommend:Do not apply excessive force when removing the part. Otherwise you may damage it.
- Step 8Install a new ignition distributor rotor.AUTODOC recommends:When installing, do not use excessive force to avoid damage to the part.
- Step 9Install the distributor cap.AUTODOC recommends:When installing, do not use excessive force to avoid damage to the part.
