AUTODOC recommends:
- Replace the brake drums on SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2) in pair for the rear axle. Disregarding the parts state. It ensures even braking.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake drums on the same axle.
- When replacing the brake drums, be sure to also change the brake shoes.
- Please note: all work on the car – SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Engage the parking brake lever.
- Step 2Loosen the parking brake cable. Use a combination spanner #10.
- Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 4Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 5Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 6Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2)
- Step 7Remove the wheel.
- Step 8Clean the brake drum. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 9Remove the wheel hub nut cap. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
- Step 10Remove the cotter pin securing the hub nut. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
- Step 11Unscrew the hub nut. Use a drive socket #24. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Remove the brake drum assembled with the wheel hub bearing.
- Step 13Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 14Treat the wheel hub in the area where it contacts the brake drum. Use a multipurpose grease.
- Step 15Install the new brake drum assembled with the wheel hub bearing.
- Step 16Install the wheel.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2)
- Step 17Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
