How to change Air Filter on VOLVO XC90 1 TUTORIAL | AUTODOC
All the parts you need to replace – Air Filter for XC90 I (275) and other VOLVO models
Replacement: air filter – Volvo XC90 1. AUTODOC recommends:
Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
Please note: all work on the car – Volvo XC90 1 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Open the bonnet.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Remove the protective cover.
Step 4
Remove the engine cover.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: air filter – Volvo XC90 1. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 5
Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 6
Slightly raise the cover of the air filter housing.
Step 7
Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 8
Clean the air filter cover and housing.
Replacement: air filter – Volvo XC90 1. Tip:
Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
Step 9
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.
Replacement: air filter – Volvo XC90 1. Professionals recommend:
Check out the correct location of the filter element. Do not skew.Attention! Use quality filters – Volvo XC90 1.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
Step 10
Reinstall the air filter cover. Fasten it.
Step 11
Screw in the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 12
Install the protective cover.
Step 13
Install the engine cover and secure it.

Replacement: air filter – Volvo XC90 1. To avoid damaging the part during installation, do not use excessive force.
Step 14
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 15
Close the hood.
