Whine – from auto gearbox?

@user_1725341 Jul 10, 2023MemberHello,I’ve noticed a faint whine when pressing the accelerator at slow speed (it’s too quiet to hear when driving at faster!). I have no idea where it’s coming from, but when in traffic it’s really annoying! Without fail, when I press the accelerator a couple of milliseconds later the faint whine starts. It doesn’t vary pitch with speed, it’s like pressing the pedal is acting as an on/off switch for some pump or other. Any clues?Thank you,Ben

@Anding Jul 13, 2023Memberthe brake pads might be worn out. they have an audible wear indicator, so it can give such noise. I’m leaning towards it being something connected with the turbo solenoid that’s attached to the bulkhead. Am relieved that it’s not the gearbox!Reply
