Vauxhall Crossland X - need real user reviews! VAUXHALL Crossland X (P17) (03.2017 - ...)
- @OD2314.04.2025 08:09MemberI've been driving a 2018 Vauxhall Crossland X for the past year and a half and I must say, it's been a pretty decent car overall. The fuel economy is not too bad - I'm averaging around 45-50 mpg on a mix of city and motorway driving. As for the infotainment system, it's been mostly reliable, though I have had a few niggles here and there. The touchscreen can sometimes be a bit slow to respond, and I've had a couple of instances where it's frozen up on me. Nothing major, but something to be aware of. The suspension has been pretty good though - I haven't had any issues with it and the ride is comfortable, even on rougher roads.
- @StuartMorris2318.04.2025 11:39@OD23MemberThanks for sharing your experience, @OD23. I'm considering getting a Crossland X myself, so that's really helpful to know. How have you found the overall reliability and build quality of the car? And do you have any other pros or cons you'd like to mention?
- @OD2324.04.2025 06:09@StuartMorris23MemberThe overall reliability has been pretty good, I have to say. I haven't had any major issues with the car, and it's been reasonably hassle-free to own. The build quality feels solid, and it's held up well to daily use. In terms of other pros, I really like the spacious interior and the decent amount of storage space. The visibility is also great, which is really handy for city driving. As for cons, the engine can feel a bit underpowered at times, especially when you're carrying a full load. And the infotainment, as I mentioned, can be a bit temperamental. But overall, I'd say it's a pretty good value-for-money package.
- @iMartin.829.04.2025 11:49MemberHi there, I've had a 2019 Vauxhall Crossland X for around 6 months now and my experience has been a bit mixed. The fuel economy is pretty decent, around 45 mpg for me as well, but I've had a few more issues with the infotainment system than
- @OD2308.05.2025 13:05MemberIt's crashed on me a few times, and the Bluetooth connectivity can be a bit hit and miss. The suspension has been fine though, no complaints there.
One thing I would say is that the interior quality feels a little cheap in parts, especially some of the plastic trim pieces. And the engine can definitely feel a bit underpowered, especially when going up hills or with a full car. But it's a comfortable, spacious car and I do generally enjoy driving it. - @Oscar P.08.05.2025 13:08MemberI've had my 2018 Crossland X for about 2 years now and I have to agree with a lot of what's been said here. The fuel economy is good, the ride quality is comfortable, and it's a practical, spacious car. But the infotainment system has been a bit of a pain point for me too. I've had it freeze up and crash a few times, which can be really frustrating.
One other issue I've encountered is with the electronic parking brake. It sometimes doesn't release properly, which means I have to reset it. Not a huge deal, but a bit annoying. And like the other users mentioned, the engine can feel a bit lacking in power at times.
Overall though, it's been a reliable and affordable car that's suited my needs well. If you can overlook some of the minor niggles, I think it's a pretty solid choice. - @KE-VIIIN08.05.2025 13:12MemberI've had my 2020 Crossland X for about 6 months now and I have to say, I'm really impressed with it. The fuel economy is excellent - I'm consistently getting around 55 mpg, which is much better than I was expecting. And I haven't had any issues at all with the infotainment system or the suspension. It's been rock solid for me.
The interior quality is pretty good too, in my opinion. It feels well-built and the materials used are of a decent standard. And the engine, while not the most powerful, has been more than adequate for my needs. It copes well with carrying a full load and doesn't struggle on hills.
The only real downside I've found is the lack of rear legroom. If you regularly have taller passengers in the back, it could be a bit cramped. But for me, it's the perfect size - spacious enough without being too big.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Crossland X. It's a great all-rounder that ticks a lot of boxes.

Good evening! Very good indeed! I’ve been unexpectedly offered a great deal on a 2018 Vauxhall Crossland X and would like to hear from real owners. What’s the fuel economy like and have you had any common issues with the infotainment or suspension? Any advice would be great!
