How do I change the rear wiper arm on VAUXHALL Astra K series
@Anna Johnson23.04.2021 11:06AUTODOC expertRemove the lever cap.Unscrew the nut.Remove the lever from the slots.- @barry_diXon30.05.2025 10:47MemberThanks for the detailed instructions on replacing the rear wiper arm on a Vauxhall Astra K! I've done this job on my 2017 Astra and can confirm it's pretty straightforward. One tip I'd add is to spray some WD-40 on the nut before trying to remove it - makes it much easier to loosen, especially if it's been on there for a while. Also, be careful not to overtighten the new nut when installing the replacement arm. Snug is good, but you don't want to strip the threads. Happy wiping, everyone!
- @simoneGalli30.05.2025 16:01MemberCheers for the guide, mate! Just a quick question - does anyone know if the rear wiper arm from Halfords will fit the Astra K? I've seen mixed reviews online, and I'd rather not waste my time if it's not compatible. Ta!

- @A.C. Tech03.06.2025 08:20MemberBlimey, wish I'd seen this before I tried to change mine last weekend! Ended up snapping the old arm trying to force it off. Word to the wise: if it doesn't want to budge, don't play the tough guy. Get yourself a proper puller tool or you'll be cursing like a sailor with a stubbed toe. Now I've got to shell out for a new wiper motor. Proper muggins, I am!
- @e.maxwell03.06.2025 09:08Member@simoneGalli - I got my Astra K rear wiper arm from Halfords last month, and it fits like a glove. Just make sure you select the right model year when ordering. And don't forget to grab a brew before you start - makes the job 50% easier, I reckon!
- @lucas.p03.06.2025 09:29MemberAnyone else find it oddly satisfying when you get that perfect "swish" sound after installing a new wiper? It's like music to my ears! Almost makes me want to drive in the rain... almost.
- @Ian_Edwards03.06.2025 09:46MemberQuick tip for the Corsa owners lurking about - the process is nearly identical for replacing the rear wiper arm on your motor. Just be mindful that the arm length might differ, so double-check before you buy. And remember, if all else fails, there's always the trusty newspaper-on-a-stick method!
