How do you change high beam bulb on my tigra
- @Sphe198623.01.2021 13:27MemberOn the side of the engine compartment on the back of the headlight, there is a cover under which the bulbs are located.
- @Jack.Taylor08.08.2025 16:35MemberTo change the high beam bulb on your Opel/Vauxhall Tigra (often similar to the Tigra Twintop X04), follow these general steps from a detailed replacement guide and user experience:
- Make sure the engine is off and the ignition is switched off.
- Open the hood and locate the headlight assembly.
- Depending on your Tigra model, you may need to remove or loosen the air intake hose and air filter housing to gain access to the back of the headlight where the bulbs are inserted.
- The high beam bulb holder is usually secured by a cap or a bulb holder that you turn roughly 30° counterclockwise to release.
- Carefully pull the bulb holder out from the headlight housing.
- Remove the old high beam bulb from the holder. Do not touch the glass part of the new bulb with your fingers, as oils can shorten its life.
- Insert the new bulb into the holder and secure it by turning the holder 30° clockwise back into the headlight housing.
- Reassemble any parts you removed such as the air filter housing and hose clamps.
- Close the hood and test the high beam functionality.
Note: On some Tigra models, especially the 2004 and newer Twintop, access may require removing or loosening components like the air intake to comfortably reach the bulbs. Also, changing behind the headlight without removing the whole headlight is possible but may be tight.
If you want a video walkthrough, a popular one shows step-by-step bulb replacement by removing air filter housing parts to gain access, which is typical for Tigra and related Opel models.
