Thermostat housing VAUXHALL Vectra Mk II (C) Saloon (Z02)

Can anyone tell me please, where is the position of the thermostat housing.

The Haynes manual say it is to the right of the engin which is at the side of the battery but the top hose is on the left in the vicinity of the water pump at the front.

I am very confused.

      The thermostat housing is on the side on the cylinder head, take the upper radiator pipe, if you follow it from the radiator towards the engine it should lead you to the thermostat.

        Thanks. I knew in my head it was but Hayes book said opposite. I have always trusted them.  First time I ever found them to be wrong. I know there are lots of variants.
