Stuck on park until lights/central locking used SKODA Fabia II Hatchback (542)

Ok, odd one this. 2011 skoda fabia vrs automatic. U0101 no coms with gear selector module. The car is stuck in park, RAC came out, couldn’t figure the issue. All linkage is working fine. If I turn the headlights on, suddenly it goes in gear and drives perfectly. Since this happened, drivers door will not open on the key, or lock on it. When I open the drivers door the interior light does not come on, and the HUD does not show the door as open. All the other doors and the boot work fine. 

If anyone has any incite I would be immensely grateful.
