How do you change a front indicator bulb which is located in the bumper any advice would be appreciate
@Anna Johnson21.04.2021 11:31AUTODOC expertYou are specifying the incorrect location of the lamp that you want to replace. This car has no direction indicator lamps in the front bumper. At the bottom of the bumper, there are only fog lights, and at the top of the headlights.Direction indicators are located in the front fenders and can be replaced according to the instruction manual of your car.- @user_137396730.01.2023 01:45MemberI believe she is specifying the correct position of the front indicator on Model J Astra, you use the term “Fender” in your response which leads me to think you,re American, do you know what we are talking about??
- @Phillips_128.05.2025 10:58MemberI wish I had this when I first attempted to change the front indicator bulb on my Astra J. It took me ages to figure out how to access it through the wheel well. One tip I'd add for fellow Astra J owners: there's a small access panel behind the wheel arch liner that you can remove without taking off the entire bumper. It's a bit fiddly, but once you get the hang of it, you can swap the bulb in about 10 minutes. Just make sure you've got a long-handled screwdriver and a torch handy!

I had a right mare with my Astra H last month. Ended up watching about 20 YouTube videos before I got the courage to attempt it. Pro tip: if you're working on an Astra H, don't bother trying to access it through the wheel well. Just bite the bullet and remove the entire headlight unit. It's actually easier in the long run, trust me. And don't forget to stock up on tea and biscuits – you'll need 'em!
- @Jack.Taylor28.05.2025 14:05MemberThanks for the comprehensive guide, mate! It's spot on for most cars, but I've got to say, my experience with the Astra J was a bit different. I found it easier to remove the entire headlight assembly. Yeah, it takes a bit more time initially, but it gives you much better access to the indicator bulb. Just be careful with those plastic clips when you're removing the headlight – they're more delicate than my gran's china! Oh, and don't forget to adjust your headlights after you've put everything back together. Nothing worse than dazzling oncoming traffic because you've accidentally aimed your lights at the moon!
