Removing the rear door handle on a Peugeot Partner van (2017) can be tricky, especially if there's limited guidance for this specific model and year. Here’s a practical approach based on general Peugeot van door handle removal and troubleshooting tips:

General Steps for Removing Rear Door Handles on Peugeot Vans

    1. Access the Screws or Fasteners
    - Remove Interior Trim: If possible, access the inside of the rear door by removing the interior trim panel. This is common on many vans and allows you to reach the handle mechanism or mounting screws.
    - Look for Screws or Clips: Many Peugeot van handles have screws or plastic plugs hiding the fasteners. Sometimes, you need to remove a small plastic cover or plug to access a screw.
    - Unscrew or Unclip: Once you find the screw or clip, use the appropriate tool to remove it. On some models, the screw does not come all the way out but allows the handle to be pulled away once loosened.

    2. Handle Removal
    - Pull Handle Out: After removing the fasteners, gently pull the handle away from the door. Some handles pivot or slide out—be careful not to force it and risk breaking plastic clips or rods.
    - Disconnect Any Rods or Wiring: If the handle is connected to a rod or wiring for the lock mechanism, disconnect these carefully before fully removing the handle.

    3. Troubleshooting Tips
    - Check for Hidden Fixings: Sometimes, additional screws or clips are hidden under tape, trim, or badges. Double-check for any missed fasteners.
    - Don’t Force It: If the handle won’t budge, recheck for any remaining screws or clips. Forcing can damage the handle or door.
    - Consult a Workshop Manual: If available, a Peugeot Partner van workshop manual can provide specific diagrams for your model year.

Specific Advice for Peugeot Partner Rear Door Handles

    - Rear Door Mechanism: The rear door handle on the Partner van is often simpler than the front, but access can be more awkward due to the door’s construction and the presence of the latch mechanism.
    - Common Issues: Sometimes, the handle is linked to a rod or cable that operates the latch. If you’re only removing the handle for wrapping, you may not need to disconnect this, but you must ensure the handle is free from all fixings.
    - Alternative Approach: If you cannot remove the handle, consider wrapping around it as best as possible, using precision knife work and heat to seal the edges. This is less ideal but can work in a pinch if removal is not possible.

If you’ve already removed the lights and other parts, the handle is likely the last obstacle. Focus on finding any hidden screws or clips, and avoid forcing the handle to prevent damage.
