I’m thinking about buying a used 2015 Peugeot 308 and would love to hear your experiences. How’s the reliability?

Any common issues I should watch out for, like electrical problems or gearbox issues?

    Pros:
    - Good fuel economy (especially 1.6 HDi / 1.2 PureTech).
    - Comfortable interior, pleasant handling.
    Cons (common problems):
    1.2 PureTech (petrol):
    - Timing chain stretching (requires monitoring).
    - Oil consumption (check the level!).
    1.6 HDi (diesel):
    - EGR / diesel particulate filter (FAP) clogging.
    - Turbo leaks possible.
    Electrical:
    - Multimedia glitches (NAC / RCC).
    - ABS / airbag sensors (check errors).
    Gearbox:
    - 6-speed automatic (Aisin) - reliable, but expensive to repair.
    - 5-speed manual - problems with the release bearing.
Be sure to check the service history and diagnostics (especially the engine and gearbox). The best choice is a well-maintained example with full service information.

I've owned a 2015 Peugeot 308 for about three years now, and I can confirm most of what you've said. The fuel economy is indeed impressive, especially on longer trips. I've consistently gotten around 50 mpg on motorways with my 1.6 HDi.

One thing to watch out for is the touchscreen system. It can be a bit finicky, especially in colder weather. I've had to reset it a few times, but nothing major. Overall, I'd say it's a solid car for the money. Just make sure you get a well-maintained one with a full service history.

Blimey, mate! You've certainly done your homework on the 308. I've got a 2016 model, and it's been a right proper motor. Though, I must say, the rear seats are tighter than a Scotsman's wallet. If you've got lanky teenagers, they might grumble a bit on longer journeys.

As for reliability, mine's been as sturdy as a British bulldog. Just keep an eye on that oil level if you go for the 1.2 PureTech. It's thirstier than a bloke at the pub on a Friday night!

I test drove a 2015 Peugeot 308 last month, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The ride quality was smoother than my gran's custard! However, I found the lack of physical buttons for climate control a bit of a faff. It's like trying to text while wearing oven mitts.

One thing to consider: if you're looking at the automatic, make sure it's been well-maintained. I've heard horror stories about repair costs that could make a grown man weep. Might be worth checking out the Honest John website for more detailed reviews and common issues.

Cor blimey, you lot are giving me food for thought! I've been eyeing up a 2018 Peugeot 308 GT Line, and it's good to hear some real-world experiences. Has anyone had any issues with the stop-start system? I've heard it can be a bit temperamental, like my mother-in-law after a few sherries.

Also, how's the boot space? I need something that can handle a weekly shop and the odd trip to IKEA without breaking a sweat. Don't fancy having to strap the flat-pack wardrobe to the roof like some budget version of the Beverly Hillbillies!
