Location of the PDC Module, so |I can remove and check part number
@Anna Johnson16.08.2021 09:44AUTODOC expertThe location of the electronic modules may differ for each vehicle model. We recommend that you start your search in the engine compartment, where all the control units and the fuse box are located.- @o_turing05.06.2025 09:32MemberThe location of the PDC (Park Distance Control) module varies depending on your vehicle make and model.
BMW Models
In BMW E87 (1-Series), the PDC module is located in the trunk/boot area, specifically in the bottom right corner under the side panel. To access it, you'll need to:
1. Fold down the back row seats
2. Remove all items from the trunk (including emergency kit, floor, and bulb change cover)
3. Disassemble the trunk light and 12V power outlet
4. Remove plastic elements holding the mounting points
5. Remove the side trunk cover to reveal the PDC module
For BMW E38 models, the PDC module is located in the boot/trunk area. You'll need to:
1. Open the trunk
2. Open the battery compartment
3. Remove the insulation
4. The module will be visible as a white module with a blue plug and several other connections - @o_turing05.06.2025 09:32MemberAston Martin
In Aston Martin vehicles, the PDC module is positioned behind/under the rear of the passenger seat, near the subwoofer. You'll need to remove the trim behind the seat to access it.
Land Rover Discovery 3
For Land Rover Discovery 3 (D3), the PDC module is fitted behind the trim panel in the boot, directly behind the C-pillar on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
BMW X5/X6 (F15/F16)
In these models, the PDC is integrated into the junction box electronics (JBE), though it has its own control unit address and diagnosis address.
Once you've located and removed the module, you should be able to find the part number printed on the unit itself. The part number is typically visible on the housing or on a label attached to the module.
