I was trying to get to the problem of my nieces car heater not working How do you access the fuse box on a Grandland x 2018 as the ECU sits right in front of it. There has to be a simple way to get to the fuses as I stopped short of dismantling the dashboard. Cheers Stuart
@Bobviscep06.11.2023 12:17MemberHello, to access the fuses that are located inside the car you need to remove the plastic box that is located to the left of the steering wheel on the panel. You need to open it and there is a button inside, you need to press it down and take out the box. After this there will be access to the fuses- SUZUKI SWIFT V (AZ) 1.2 (A2L412)S. Based on your description, it sounds like you're having trouble accessing the interior fuse box.
Accessing the Interior Fuse Box
The interior fuse box in the Grandland X is located behind a cover in the glove compartment. Many owners find this fuse box challenging to access because:
1. You first need to open the glove box completely
2. Remove the cover inside the glove box
3. The fuse box is positioned behind several multi-plugs and wiring
What makes this confusing is that when you remove the cover, you'll initially only see some multi-plugs and a bit of light grey plastic, which might make it seem like the fuse box isn't there. However, the fuse box is indeed located behind those wires and plugs.
You don't need to dismantle the dashboard completely. According to forum discussions, you should be able to access the fuses without unplugging the connectors, though it may require some careful maneuvering around them. - @【L】【E】【W】04.06.2025 12:00MemberAlternative Fuse Box Locations
If you're still having trouble with the interior fuse box, you might want to check:
1. The engine compartment fuse box - This is more accessible and houses fuses for many of the vehicle's systems
2. The Grandland X has a total of 4 different fuse boxes according to some sources
For a heater issue specifically, the fuse might be in either the passenger compartment fuse box or the engine compartment fuse box, depending on which component has failed.
If you continue to have difficulty accessing the fuses, you might want to check a detailed video guide that shows the exact location and access method for all fuse boxes in the Grandland X.
