Crankshaft sensor

As a consequence of a drive belt failure the crankshaft sensor connection plug on our 1400 TDCI was smashed away. We were advised by the AA who rescued the vehicle that this is not an unknown situation. New crank shaft sensor units are available at a nominal price. But the connection plug which has 3 wires is part of the engine wiring loom. The plug is not an available part and the engine loom retails at over 1K. The breaker market seems fraught with characters. Does anyone have a solution?

Hello, you can look for the chip separately on used spare parts websites and contact an electrician to replace it.
