Any help welcome .

Iam not a car enthusiast but if its relatively straight forward ill give it a go myself.

Cheers.

Hey mate, you’re asking exactly what most DIY Vivaro owners want to know! Faults on the X83 (especially ABS issues) just love to pop up. Don’t worry—there’s hope for non-car nerds. Here’s the user-style run-down:

First things first: Most common faults?
    - ABS and “service” lights tend to be the top drama queens. It’s mostly wheel speed sensors gone rusty, wires near hubs getting corroded/split, or sometimes the ABS module acting up.
    - Electrical gremlins (fuses, relays for central locking, glow plugs) are a close second.
    - Air temp sensor, glow plugs, and EGR clogging also rank high—but for ABS, always start with wheel sensors and wiring!

    Best code reader for DIY?
If you want to read and reset those ABS codes (and not just engine ones), check out the iCarsoft OP V2.0 or V3.0 series. They give you specific Vauxhall fault codes, can reset warning lights, and scan live ABS data (so you don’t have to guess). They’re made for Vauxhall/Opel, plug right into the OBD port, and the menus are plain English—not hieroglyphics. Foxwell NT301 is budget-friendly but basic—won’t do ABS resets on most Vivaro vans, so aim for iCarsoft or similar.

Pro tip: Before buying, check that your Vivaro (X83) is listed as compatible, or message the sellers—they answer pretty fast these days. After scanning codes, ABS sensor faults are usually easy to spot: they’ll point to one wheel or “open circuit.”

If you’re not “car enthusiastic,” don’t worry—ABS sensors are easy to change with a basic socket set, and most of the code readers come with YouTube help. Folks like you fix this stuff every weekend and save garage fees!
