Replacement: spark plugs – AUDI A2 (8Z0). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: spark plugs – AUDI A2 (8Z0). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the hood.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3Detach the crankcase ventilation hose from the engine cover at the left.
- Step 4Remove the engine cover.
- Step 5Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
- Step 6Detach the crankcase ventilation hose from the oil filler neck.
- Step 7Unscrew the oil filler neck. Remove the oil filler neck.
- Step 8Cover the oil filler opening with a microfibre towel to prevent dirt and foreign objects from getting into the system.
- Step 9Pry up the ignition coil. Use a crowbar. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 10Undo the plastic locking tabs of the ignition coil connector. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 11Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well.Replacement: spark plugs – AUDI A2 (8Z0). AUTODOC experts recommend:Remember the sequence of steps for ignition coil demounting.
- Step 12Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells.
- Step 13Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 14Take out the spark plugs. Use a telescoping magnet.
- Step 15Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs. Treat the surface of the terminals of the new spark plugs. Use electronic spray.
- Step 16Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats.
- Step 17Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 nm torque.Replacement: spark plugs – AUDI A2 (8Z0). AUTODOC recommends:Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection.
