Carefully check the other engine mounts and replace them if necessary.
Step 16
Install the engine mount to its mounting seat.Use a crowbar.
Step 17
Remove the support from under the engine.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: engine mounts – BMW 3 Convertible (E46). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 18
Tighten the upper fastener of the engine mount.Use a drive socket #16.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 65 Nm torque.
Step 19
Install the air duct housing.
Step 20
Secure the fastener of the air intake duct.Use HEX No.H5.Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 21
Tighten the lower fastener of the engine mount.Use a drive socket #16.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 65 Nm torque.
Step 22
Attach the vacuum hose to the engine mount.
Step 23
Treat the engine mount fasteners.Use copper grease.
Step 24
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 25
Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.Treat the contacting surface.Use copper grease.
Step 26
Install the wheel.
AUTODOC recommends:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 27
Screw in the wheel bolts.Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 28
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 29
Remove the jacks and chocks.
Step 30
Close the hood.
