How to change rear wheel bearing / rear hub bearing on VW CADDY 3 (2KB) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: wheel bearing – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. AUTODOC recommends:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right wheel hubs on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW Caddy 3 Kombi – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Caddy 3 Kombi
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 7Disconnect the ABS sensor electric socket. Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor plug. Remove the ABS sensor connector. Remove the connector of the brake pad wear sensor. Use round-nose pliers.
- Step 8Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Please note!Some cars are not equipped with the brake pad wear sensor.
- Step 9Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. Remove the brake caliper together with its bracket.Replacement: wheel bearing – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.Step 10Unscrew the brake disc mounting bolts and remove it. Use Torx T30.Replacement: wheel bearing – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. Tip:If necessary, use a rubber mallet.
- Step 11Pry the hub cap with a screwdriver and remove it. If necessary, use a flat chisel and a hammer.
- Step 12Unscrew the wheel hub axle nut. Use HEX No.19.
- Step 13Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit. Use 3-Arm Gear Puller.
- Step 14Clean the guiding part of the stub axle. Use a wire brush.Replacement: wheel bearing – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. AUTODOC experts recommend:Be careful to avoid damaging the guiding part of the stub axle.
- Step 15Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. Apply special grease to the bearing assembly mounting seat.
- Step 16Install the new wheel hub with a bearing. Move the hub as far as it can go.
- Step 17Tighten the hub. Use HEX No.19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 180 Nm torque.+180°Replacement: wheel bearing – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. AUTODOC recommends:Important! Be sure to use new fasteners.The wheel bearing unit must not tilt on the axle pin.
