Replace the stabiliser links on VW CADDY III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ) in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: anti roll bar links – VW CADDY III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ). Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 3

Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW CADDY III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ)
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7

Unscrew the fastening bolts of the bracket that connects the stabilizer bar to the car body. Use a combination spanner #18.
Step 8

Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 10

Remove the stabilizer rod.

Replacement: anti roll bar links – VW CADDY III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ). Professionals recommend:
Examine the stabiliser bushes. Replace them if necessary.
Step 11

Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 12

Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link.
Step 13

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 14

Tighten the stabiliser link fastener. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 15

Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 16

Tighten the stabiliser link fastener. Use a combination spanner #18.
Step 17

Tighten the fastener connecting the stabiliser bracket to the car body. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 18

Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 19

Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease.
Step 20

Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: anti roll bar links – VW CADDY III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 21

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 22

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: anti roll bar links – VW CADDY III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 23

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. VW CADDY III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ)
Step 24

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 25

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 26

Remove the jacks and chocks.
