Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT TOLEDO IV (KG3). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right wheel hubs on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT TOLEDO IV (KG3). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SEAT TOLEDO IV (KG3)
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 7Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a combination spanner #15.
- Step 8Remove the brake caliper.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT TOLEDO IV (KG3). Tip:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.
- Step 9Remove the brake pads.
- Step 10Unscrew the brake disc mounting bolts and remove it. Use Torx T30.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT TOLEDO IV (KG3). AUTODOC recommends:If necessary, use a rubber mallet.
- Step 11Pry up and remove the wheel hub cap. Use a crowbar.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT TOLEDO IV (KG3). Tip from AUTODOC experts:If necessary, use a flat chisel and a hammer.
- Step 12Unscrew the wheel hub fastening nut. Use drive 12-point socket #32.
- Step 13Clean the hub. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 14Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit. Use 3-Arm Gear Puller.
- Step 15Clean the guiding part of the stub axle. Use a wire brush.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT TOLEDO IV (KG3). Tip from AUTODOC:Be careful to avoid damaging the guiding part of the stub axle.
- Step 16Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 17Apply special grease to the bearing assembly mounting seat.
- Step 18Install the new wheel hub with a bearing.
- Step 19Move the hub as far as it can go.
- Step 20Screw the wheel hub lock nut.
