AUTODOC recommends:
- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your SEAT INCA (6K9) car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – SEAT INCA (6K9) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SEAT INCA (6K9) - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Remove the brake caliper. Use a crowbar.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT INCA (6K9). Professionals recommend:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary. - Step 9
Remove the brake pads. - Step 10
Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 11
Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use HEX No.H8. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a tap wrench. - Step 12
Remove the caliper bracket. - Step 13
Clean the brake disc fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 14
Remove the wheel hub nut cap. Use a hammer. Use a crowbar. - Step 15
Remove the cotter pin securing the hub nut. Use a crowbar. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 16
Unscrew the hub nut. Use a drive socket #24. Use a tap wrench. - Step 17
Remove the brake disc assemled with the wheel hub bearing. Use a crowbar. - Step 18
Clean the stub axle. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 19
Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 20
Press out the wheel hub bearing. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer. - Step 21
Remove the bearing inner race from the wheel hub. Remove the inner oil seal of the wheel bearing. Use a universal puller. Use the hub slide hammer puller. - Step 22Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 23
Press fit the new wheel hub bearing into the brake disc. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT INCA (6K9). Tip:Check to make sure the wheel hub bearing is positioned correctly. Avoid its misalignment. Stop pressing on the surface of the bearing immediately after it has been fitted into its mounting seat. - Step 24
Install the inner race of the wheel bearing into the hub. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer. - Step 25
Treat the wheel hub bearing. Use a multipurpose grease.
