How to change rear wheel bearing / rear hub bearing on RENAULT TWINGO 1 (C06) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]


- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your Renault Twingo C06 car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
- Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3

Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

- Step 5

Remove the wheel.
- Step 6

Clean the brake drum. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7

Remove the hub bearing protection cap. Use a hammer. Use a crowbar.
Replacement: wheel bearing – Renault Twingo C06. AUTODOC recommends:Some cars are not equipped with wheel hub caps.
- Step 8

Clean the wheel hub fastener. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 9

Unscrew the wheel hub axle nut. Use a drive socket #30. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 10

Remove the brake drum.
Replacement: wheel bearing – Renault Twingo C06. AUTODOC experts recommend:Examine the brake drum. Replace it if necessary.
- Step 11

Remove the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
- Step 12

Press out the wheel hub bearing. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 13

Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 14

Press a new bearing into the wheel hub. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
